Barbera d’Asti D.O.C.G.

Piedmont

One of Piedmont’s most representative grape varieties, Barbera accounts for about 30% of the region’s hectares of vineyards. Originally from Monferrato, it is mainly cultivated in the provinces of Asti and Alessandria, reaching its most sublime expression in Barbera d’Asti.

Winegrowing areas and vineyards

Cultivated on the best exposed hills of the Asti and Monferrato areas, Barbera is harvested in the first half of October.

Although it is linked to ancient farming traditions, Barbera d’Asti is a constantly evolving wine that has been able to reinvent itself over time to meet the needs and tastes of a vast and curious clientele. This wine represents the most sublime expression of the vine. Classed as D.O.C. in 1970 and D.O.C.G. since 2008. Today it is considered among the most important Italian red wines.

Tasting Notes

Our Barbera d’Asti is a continuous revelation for all the senses.

Its red color tends towards garnet with age. The nose is broad, with notes of plum, ripe cherry and spices. On the palate it is rich and smooth, a perfect match for flavorsome first courses, roasted red meats and game.
