Chianti

Winegrowing areas and vineyards

Chianti is an ancient wine whose production dates back to Etruscan times.

Its production area is therefore the heart of Tuscany, in the area between the provinces of Arezzo, Florence, Pisa, Pistoia, Prato and Siena. The hilly winegrowing areas feature large terraces, and valleys crossed by rivers. Classed as D.O.C. in 1800, it has been D.O.C.G. since 1984.
